Commercial Check ride Study Guide
Unlock the insider knowledge that will set you apart on your check ride day. As a former check airman, these are the questions I would reference when I tested commercial pilot applicants.
- Reviewed and updated to thoroughly match the current ACS.
- Real life scenarios to work through, tips & tricks
- Emphasis on common checkride weak spots
- 2-for-1 PDF, 1 with questions, 1 with questions & answers

follows the ACS and is easy to read. very simple.
This is a very comprehensive study guide for Commercial Pilot students preparing for their oral exam. It covers the carryover material from Private and introduces material unique to Commercial. Highly recommend this study material; it is worth the price. Thank you!
Several suggested edits:
-Registration is now good for 7 years, not 3
-Detonation is caused by an excessively lean mixture, not rich
-Add a reference to Advisory Circular 120-12A for common carriage vs. private carriage and holding out
I’m an AGI and currently heading towards my commercial checkride. This is one of the most detailed study guides out there! Especially with the ACS Tasks with it!! Definitely a game changer!
Thank you!! For anyone asking AGI is Advanced Ground Instructor
I have my checkride coming up soon and purchased this at the beginning of my CSEL training. There is a huge amount of information given and really helps that it’s question/answer formatted and goes in order of the ACS. BasicMed needs updated. This was a great guide as a whole and I recommend purchasing!
Hi! Thanks for the input, the updated Basicmed rules are now in the PDF as well as the new currency rules regarding 'passengers' vs. 'people'.
The basic med rules need to be updated. Yes this was a fairly new change, but I purchased this study guide after the basic med rules had changed. I don't recall seeing anything about mandatory/immediate reports to the NTSB as far as in-flight emergencies or reports that involve letting the FAA know about DUI's. Perhaps that isn't part of the Commercial ACS, but wouldn't be a bad thing to include in the study guide.
Hi!
Thanks for the input. The updated version has just been sent out. It now includes the updated basicmed & I included questions about accidents/incidents & DUI reporting!
